Salvative cardiological diagnostics

What are Poles really dying from? Why are the heart and blood vessels still the greatest threat?

Health statistics in Poland leave no doubt – despite medical progress and greater awareness, Cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of death in Poles.

According to data from the National Institute of Public Health PZH, cited by Puls Medycyny, heart and vascular diseases are responsible for the highest percentage of deaths in Poland – both before and after the pandemic.

In 2019, cardiovascular diseases accounted for approx. 39% total deaths, and despite temporary changes in the structure of causes during the COVID-19 pandemic, they still remain in first place.

Heart disease – the number one silent killer

The most important conclusions from the report are clear:

  • Heart disease is responsible for tens of thousands of deaths each year
  • strokes and atherosclerosis remain among the leading causes of death
  • the risk increases sharply after the age of 45
  • many deaths could be avoided with earlier diagnosis

What is particularly worrying is that cardiovascular diseases often develop asymptomatically for years, and the first "symptom" can also be a critical event – a heart attack or stroke.

Why do Poles still die from heart disease?

The report highlights several key factors:

  • hypertension, often undetected or untreated
  • lipid disorders (cholesterol)
  • diabetes
  • chronic stress and lack of regeneration
  • low physical activity
  • late diagnosis

That's it delayed cardiological diagnosis is one of the most important and at the same time most underestimated systemic problems.

Key takeaway: Most of these deaths are predictable

Unlike many other diseases, circulatory system diseases:

  • they develop over the years
  • provide measurable signals (blood pressure, heart rhythm, ECG)
  • can be detected at an early stage
  • they effectively prevent a heart attack or stroke

There is one condition: regular and modern cardiological diagnostics.

Cardiological diagnostics – a real chance to avoid tragedy

Modern cardiology is no longer based only on examining "when something hurts.".

Today, the following are of key importance:

  • heart rate monitoring (Holter ECG)
  • rhythm and arrhythmia analysis
  • blood pressure control
  • early detection of ischemia
  • screening tests for asymptomatic patients

It is this approach that allows us to detect risk before a life-threatening event occurs.

How do we support early heart diagnosis?

At Olamed, we focus on solutions that truly support doctors, clinics, and patients in detecting cardiovascular diseases at an early stage.

  • monitor heart function in everyday conditions
  • detect arrhythmias that are not visible on a standard ECG
  • analyze heart rate variability
  • diagnose hypertension at home and in an outpatient setting

Why is this so important?

Because the statistics are merciless – Heart disease does not give a second chance at the first symptom.

Therefore, it becomes crucial to act early:

  • before a heart attack occurs
  • before a stroke occurs
  • before the patient arrives at the emergency room

                                           Early cardiological diagnostics

The NIZP-PZH data clearly show: The greatest health threat in Poland is still circulatory system diseases.

At the same time, these are diseases that:

  • can be detected early
  • can be effectively controlled
  • can be prevented in many cases

The condition is one thing – access to modern cardiological diagnostics and its regular use.
