Description of the ECG machine

This reusable medical device is not a conventional diagnostic tool. The collected measurement results can serve as a reference point for the patient and the physician for subsequent clinical treatment.

The handheld ECG monitor helps detect cardiovascular diseases because can monitor the patient's heart rate at any time and anywhere. The ECG monitor records, analyzes, and displays ECG waveforms and heart rate, detecting abnormal ECG patterns that could lead to a heart attack. Once connected to a computer, users can print their own ECG waveform and submit it to their physician. The device can be used both in the hospital and by individual users at home. The handheld ECG is intended for people:

  • with heart rhythm disorders,
  • with heart failure,
  • with coronary heart disease,
  • with heart palpitations,
  • with hypertension,
  • for diabetics,
  • obese people,
  • elderly people
  • all those who want to have their hearts under control

The device is not a conventional diagnostic tool. The collected measurement results can serve as a reference point for the patient and the physician for subsequent clinical treatment.

Handheld ECG – Heart under control

Many diseases that we are unaware of affect the condition of our hearts, and if left untreated, they can seriously threaten our health. Neglecting tooth decay can significantly weaken the heart, similarly to untreated cold or sore throat, which can lead to inflammation of the heart muscle. Long-lasting depression may cause a drop in blood pressure, heart palpitations, or chest pain. In people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis Nodules often form in internal organs. The appearance of such a nodule near the heart is particularly dangerous, as it can lead to heart damage. Common thyroid problems also affect the heart. If left untreated, hyperthyroidism may cause arrhythmia, shortness of breath, atrial fibrillation, and heart palpitations. Hypothyroidism can lead to hypertension, which, together with atherosclerosis, leads to heart attack and stroke.

Heart failure is one of the most serious health problems in Poland. Estimates suggest that approximately 600,000-700,000 people in Poland suffer from it.. Over the next 25 years, the number of patients will increase by 25,000! With these estimates, it's already an epidemic! Heart failure is a global problem and is growing every year. The number of people suffering from this disease is twice as high as those battling cancer.

The mortality rate of heart failure patients is approximately 10% per year. Every day, 164 Poles die from heart failure, which means 60,000 deaths a year!!!  Half of patients die within five years of diagnosis. Mortality rates for heart failure are significantly worse than those for breast, ovarian, or prostate cancer. The quality of life of people with heart failure is comparable to that of kidney disease patients undergoing dialysis three times a week and worse than that of patients with viral hepatitis or depression.

In people over 65, heart failure is the most common cause of hospitalization. It typically occurs in people with an overloaded or damaged heart. Untreated or improperly treated cardiovascular conditions lead to this condition. Furthermore, the heart, like any organ, ages and weakens with age. It typically loses its function due to a heart attack or coronary artery disease. Atherosclerotic lesions narrow blood vessels, leading over time to partial occlusion of the vessels feeding the heart muscle by a blood clot. This part of the heart dies, reducing the efficiency of the entire heart. Heart failure is often caused by inadequately treated hypertension. Diabetes, hyperthyroidism, obesity, and chemotherapy for cancer also contribute to heart strain.

Symptoms of heart failure depend on the degree of damage. Initial symptoms may include shortness of breath, mild dyspnea, and rapid fatigue with simple activities. As the disease progresses, symptoms become increasingly bothersome and severe. Edema may also appear.

Estimates of the development of this disease are terrifying. Every fifth person in Poland will suffer from heart failure!!!

That's why monitoring heart function is so important. Not so long ago, continuous heart monitoring was unavailable outside of a hospital setting. Now, thanks to technological advancements, you can monitor your heart virtually anywhere: at home, at the bus stop, at the train station, or while walking. A handheld ECG monitor allows you to examine the ECG waveform, analyze it, and provide a quick diagnosis. Using software, the device transmits test results to your phone or computer. Measurement results can be printed and forwarded to a doctor for further analysis. Results should be confirmed with a professional electrocardiograph.

How to use?

The purpose of an ECG device is to indirectly record the heart's electrical activity via special electrodes. In the case of a handheld ECG, these are electrodes placed at the top and bottom of the device. To perform a proper examination, the electrodes must be placed according to the diagrams provided, ensuring that they adhere closely to the body. The essence of an ECG recording is that the device reads the difference in electrical potential between individual electrodes. The ECG result is a graph consisting of segments and waves. Not only the appearance of individual sections of the recording is interpreted, but also their duration.

  1. To start the test, press the blue button.
      ekg-action
  2. To perform the examination, place the device in one of the following positions:
    EKG measurement
  3. The test will begin when the ECG curve turns green.
        ECG measurement
  4. A diagnosis will be made immediately after the examination is completed.
  5. Test results can be viewed on the device screen.
