AED DEFIBRILLATOR WITHOUT SECRETS, OR A CONVERSATION WITH A PARAMEDIC PART 2

We invite you to the second part of our interview with paramedic Paweł Oleksiak. In this installment, we discuss the merits of first aid training and AED training (BLS-AED courses).

First aid training with AED (BLS-AED course)

Is AED first aid training necessary?

Yes, because you never know when the knowledge gained during the course will come in handy. Now that more and more AED devices are available to the public (airports, train stations, hypermarkets, movie theaters, etc.), the need for their use by laypeople is becoming more acute.

How often should first aid training using an AED be conducted?

First aid training should be held at least once a year, ideally every six months (of course, we're talking about training that includes using an AED). Why? Because we forget, but that's not all. The more often we do something, the less we fear it. And AED use issues, meaning fear of using an AED, are common among most of us.

So how do you overcome your fear of AEDs?

Only by undergoing regular training in the use of an AED, it is best if we can operate the device ourselves.

We now invite you to the next part of the interview, in which the paramedic will explain the operation of Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs).

WE INVITE YOU!
