An unhealthy lifestyle is the cause of most heart diseases. Because they are difficult to treat, prevention is better. Therefore, anyone who wants a healthy heart should follow a few rules:
- regular physical exercise (preferably outdoors)
- avoiding alcohol and nicotine
- eating little fat and lots of fruit and vegetables
- avoiding stress and strong emotions
Even under intense exertion and at full speed, a tennis player's heart beats slower than the heart of someone who doesn't exercise regularly. At the same time, it pumps more blood.
